Old Mill Square – Pigeon Forge, TN

One of my favourite places to visit while in Pigeon Forge is the Old Mill Square. This place is right up my alley…with quaint shops, interesting history and beautiful views. I love the shops and restaurants.

We were treated to lunch at The Old Mill Pottery House Café and Grille. Oh my, the food was wonderful! I enjoyed the Spring Chicken Gumbo and tasted the coconut cream pie for dessert, wow! The staff at the café is great, all very friendly and helpful…and it is a very comfortable and homey place to enjoy a meal. Very busy too! After tasting the food, I can see why!

On display are many of the items which are made at The Old Mill Pigeon River Pottery, beautiful work, all formed and fired on site and the work is used in both of the restaurants. If you pop by the pottery, you can get a chance to watch the potters at work. Also, you can purchase the work created there, including the Mighty Bears series…which I was lucky enough to bring home one of them! Everything is made there, on the spot, and has been for over 50 years. Anything that will make for a great souvenir of your visit.

We were also treated to a fresh pecan pie from The Old Mill Restaurant…oh my word! We brought this pie home and have been nibbling it on it for days, it is heavenly! All the flours for the breads etc…is milled right there at the mill, so everything is baked fresh with fresh raw product. You can’t beat that!

There are shops in the square where you can purchase all kinds of fresh made goodies, like candy and preserves also. Breads etc… it is ALL so good!

Be sure to check out the Old Mill Square and bring home some tasty goodies and beautiful and functional pottery. I could shop in the square ‘til I drop!
